Félix Labisse (1905-1982) Woman in Red - Lot 53
Félix Labisse (1905-1982) Woman in Red Color lithograph depicting a woman with a red complexion, shown from the front, accompanied by stylized graphic symbols on a vertical green wood-patterned panel. Handwritten signature. Numbered 113/150. Dimensions : 68.5 x 58 cm (with frame). Félix Labisse (1905-1982) was an important figure in twentieth-century French art, close to surrealism and avant-garde theater. His work, marked by a strange imagination and symbolic iconography, has been the subject of major exhibitions, notably at the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris and the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille, where the artist lived for many years. Today, his works are held in several public collections, including the Centre Pompidou. Her singular, instantly recognizable universe continues to be studied for its wealth of references and narrative approach to the female figure.
