Laurent Yvon (1984) - Last beacons - Lot 28
Laurent Yvon (1984) - Last beacons Mixed media, collage and acrylic paint - Dimensions: 55H/46W cm, D 1.5 cm - Date: 2024 On reverse: signed and dated Certificate: certificate of authenticity enclosed. Composition centered on a female face with green eyes, treated as an apparition at the heart of a montage of torn paper, typography and graphic fragments. The black, white and red palette, punctuated by scratched textures and superimpositions, creates an edgy, urban atmosphere, between torn poster and palimpsest surface. The ensemble plays on the contrast between the intimate (the gaze, the gesture of the hands) and the sign-like (words, numbers, markings), like an inner cartography of clues, traces and interrupted messages. Laurent Yvon is a contemporary visual artist whose expressive work focuses on human emotions. Influenced by figures such as Jean Dubuffet and Egon Schiele, his work has a sensibility close to Art Brut and Surrealism. His intense compositions, often articulated around the face and body, reflect an instinctive approach to drawing and painting, where fragmentation and hybridization of forms become the vectors of a strong emotional charge.
