Laurent Yvon (1984) - Murmurs from within - Lot 31

Laurent Yvon (1984) - Murmurs from within Mixed media, collage and acrylic paint - Dimensions: 65H/54W cm, D 1.5 cm - Date: 2024 On reverse: signed and dated Certificate: certificate of authenticity enclosed. Choral composition featuring several faces with contrasting expressions, like so many superimposed inner states. The figures, treated with flat tints of color, incisive lines and glued fragments, interlock in a dense space where geometry, scratches and transparencies mingle. A vivid palette (oranges, blues, purples, blacks) is punctuated by linear highlights and vertical drips that cross certain strokes, accentuating the impression of tension and overflow. The whole evokes a mental theater: a rustling of thoughts, masks and contradictions, where each face seems to capture a different voice of the same story. Laurent Yvon is a contemporary visual artist whose expressive work focuses on human emotions. Influenced by figures such as Jean Dubuffet and Egon Schiele, his work is rooted in a sensibility close to art brut and surrealism. His intense compositions, often articulated around the face and body, reflect an instinctive approach to drawing and painting, where fragmentation and hybridization of forms become the vectors of a strong emotional charge.
