An almost votive portrait: a veiled female figure, calm and contemplative, stands out in the center of a deep-blue pictorial field. The background, worked in materials, inscriptions and signs, is punctuated by violet highlights and musical notations, like a murmur that surrounds the image. The painted words, placed around the periphery, act as a chorus of thoughts or prayers, reinforcing the ambivalence between sacred and intimate. A piece that is both meditative and urban, where the image becomes a surface for projection. Laurent Yvon is a contemporary visual artist whose expressive work focuses on human emotions.
