Laurent Yvon (1984) - La veilleuse est une fleur (2023) On reverse: signed and dated. Certificate: certificate of authenticity enclosed.
Acrylic paint, pastel and paper collage on canvas, 50 x 40 cm.
Expressive portrait of a red-haired figure, treated with facets and angular lines, on a blue background studded with small marks and traversed by fluid gestures. The direct, almost electric blue gaze contrasts with the broken construction of the face, as if the softness of the decor were surrounding an inner tension. The flamboyant hair and loose black features give a sense of movement and contained struggle. An image-poem: beauty and clash, delicacy and strength, united in a single face.
Laurent Yvon is a contemporary visual artist whose expressive work focuses on human emotions.
Influenced by figures such as Jean Dubuffet and Egon Schiele, his work has a sensibility close to art brut and surrealism.
His intense compositions, often articulated around the face and body, reflect an instinctive approach to drawing and painting, where fragmentation and hybridization of forms become the vectors of a strong emotional charge.
