Dame au pot de chambre Satirical bonbonnière - Lot 102
Dame au pot de chambre Satirical bonbonnière
Moulded polychrome porcelain featuring a young woman seated above a container, forming a bonbonnière with lid. Cold-painted decoration with partially glossy glaze highlights.
European production, probably France or Germany, late 19th/early 20th century.
An object in the satirical and erotic register in vogue around 1880-1910, in the bawdy bisque style, close to Thuringian production and Parisian porcelain.
Originally intended for use as a desk accessory (inner reservoir) or conversation bowl.
No visible mark, attribution not determined, proposed in the taste of manufacturers such as Schäfer & Vater or Conta & Boehme.
