Maurice Burke for Arkana round "tulip" table with veined whi - Lot 2
Maurice Burke for Arkana round "tulip" table with veined white marble top and white lacquered central base, circa 1970. Diameter: 125 cm
Tulip" dining table featuring a large circular marble top (probably Carrara marble) resting on a white-lacquered central shaft and round base. The design follows the rationalist aesthetic popularized in the 1960s, which Arkana adapted in the UK for the European market; the model is generally associated with the designer Maurice Burke. The marble top features animated veining and a fine edge; the monocoque base frees up space for seating.
