Cees Braakman for Pastoe "Japanese Series" teak cabinet, mix - Lot 4
Cees Braakman for Pastoe "Japanese Series" teak cabinet, mixed front (cream hinged door, two drawers, solid door), black-lacquered tubular base, 1958/1960
Asymmetrical storage unit characteristic of the "Japanese Series" developed by Cees Braakman for Pastoe from 1958, inspired by Japanese sobriety and modular principles. The front consists of a light-colored flap/top door, two central drawers with black recessed grips and a side door, all resting on a slim lacquered metal base. Even-grained teak veneer, contrasting black hardware and minimal design underline the quest for balance and functionality. Numbering/limited edition stamp 1960
