Louis XV/Rocaille-style ceiling light, gilt bronze frame and opaline glass bowl, glass bead fringe, French work, 1900
Circular ceiling light featuring a large opaline glass bowl encircled by a bronze mounting with foliage, florets and rocaille clasps. Below the crown, a fringe of strings of glass beads forms a shimmering curtain; the twisted central stem and four openwork buttresses link the bowl to the upper base. Electrification is old, with a central socket (need to bring up to standard before use).
Dimensions: height 50 cm, diameter 40 cm.
State of wear and oxidation to gilding, dirt and deposits, irregularities/some probable missing pearl fringe, unchipped glasses visible on screen, frame slightly warped in places; electricity to be reviewed before installation.
