Robert Dragot, born in 1960, develops an instinctive style of painting centered on the expression of form and the energy of gesture.
His dense palette and pronounced impastos reflect a highly physical approach to painting, in which matter plays an essential role in the construction of the image.
His subjects alternate between abstraction and free figuration, carried by stylized human or animal silhouettes.
Works from this period reflect an intense exploration of color and movement.
