Enrico Visani (1938) Riposo sotto le cattedrali, 1998 - Lot 12
Enrico Visani (1938) Riposo sotto le cattedrali, 1998 Oil on canvas depicting an expressive composition blending abstraction and stylized figurative elements: in the foreground, an organic form evoking a reclining woman, treated in colorful masses and rapid gestures; in the background, rounded architectural forms reminiscent of domes or a cathedral. Vivid palette dominated by yellows, reds and greens, with textured superimpositions typical of the artist. Signed lower right Visani. Dimensions : 59 x 89 cm (with frame). Enrico Visani (b. 1938, Marradi, Italy) belongs to the generation of Italian artists who, after the 1960s, explored a gestural language nourished by matter, sign and color. He developed a style of painting where landscape, memory and abstraction meet, often through dynamic constructions evoking architectural forms. His work has been shown in various Italian and international galleries, and several institutional exhibitions have been devoted to him. In particular, he has exhibited at the Museo Marino Marini in Florence and the Museo Marino Marini in Pistoia. His works are also held in various public collections, including the Museo Civico de Bagnacavallo and the MAMbo Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna.
