Roland Delcol (1942) - Fragments of Desire - Lot 149
Roland Delcol (1942) - Fragments of Desire Oil on paper representing a stylized composition in the manner of a stained-glass window, depicting a female nude seen from behind, accompanied by symbolic and figurative elements (character, still life, decorative motifs). Vivid palette partitioned by a network of black lines, in a decorative spirit close to surrealism. Signed "Delcol R." on the left side. Dimensions: 72.5 x 55 cm. Roland Delcol (b. 1942) is a Belgian painter who blends influences from Pop Art and Surrealism. Trained in Brussels and a close friend of Paul Delvaux, he developed a style recognizable by its thick black line framing brightly colored compositions, in which the female figure plays a central role in a universe that is both poetic and dreamlike.
