Louis XVI style pedestal table with shelves
Small rectangular-shaped piece of furniture in molded and carved wood, formerly gilded. It stands on four spindle-shaped legs with curved flutes, punctuated by rings and finished with "toupies" feet. The legs are joined by struts and support two intermediate shelves trimmed with rattan cane.
The frames feature a frieze of pearls in relief, typical of the Neoclassical decorative vocabulary. The upper shelf originally held a marble slab, now missing (broken marble).
Louis XVI style furniture, probably made in the late 19th or early 20th century.
Dimensions : H. 78 cm ; W. 46.5 cm ; D. 29.5 cm.
Original marble missing (broken). Worn and missing gilding.
