Lucien Braet (1924-1980) Erotic anatomical study Original graphite pencil drawing on paper depicting an explicit erotic anatomical study. The composition breaks down an act of simultaneous penetration of a female body into three distinct sequences. The work functions as a veritable studio study board, capturing movement as well as physical and anatomical transformations through different positions brought together on a single sheet. Strong blurring accentuates volumes, shadows and depth of form. Signed "Braet" in graphite pencil in the lower left-hand corner. Presented in a frame without its glass. Frame dimensions: approx. 53 x 42.5 cm. This work bears witness to Lucien Braet's rigorous graphic research into movement and anatomical construction. Its erotic character places it in the tradition of confidential drawings and curiosa studies of the 20th century, intended for a circle of specialized amateurs and collectors. The artist's early graphic works remain rare on the market, much of his output from the 1940s to 1960s having been destroyed by the artist himself in an auto-da-fé in 1965.
